The best spiritual and healing destinations

Connor McVilly, January 23, 2024

The prolonged lockdown and constant new restrictions are having a negative effect on us, leaving many with the desire to escape to a beautiful destination far away and begin to heal our physical and mental well-being Kambo Training.

There are certain places that are supposed to have spiritual and healing powers …here are seven of those magical places you can escape to to find a sense of calm and serenity.

  1. Stonehenge
There are countless myths surrounding the famous Blue Stones of Stonehenge and countless theories that try to explain their existence and meaning. It has been speculated that the stones have an astrological, religious and even extraterrestrial purpose .

Among all the theories, there is that Stonenhenge is actually a healing sanctuary , since buried human bodies have been found there. In fact, after several examinations, it was discovered that the bones showed clear signs of disease and that many of them would have traveled there from different parts of the country. All of this would suggest that the people who visited Stonehenge were looking for a cure.

Whether to heal your mind or simply to contemplate the beauty and mystery of these incredible stones, Stonehenge is definitely a mystical place to disconnect from the world.

  1. The Dead Sea
The Dead Sea is located near Jerusalem and is also the lowest point on earth**, almost 400 meters below sea level.

The water and minerals from this ultra-salty lake contain healing properties and can be a true blessing for your body. Its extraordinary salinity in combination with other minerals such as magnesium, bromine or iodine has been shown to have a positive effect on the nervous system, as well as an allergic effect on the skin and bronchi. The absence of contaminants helps with bronchitis and bronchi in general.

One of the main discoveries of the Dead Sea is that it significantly helps improve and even cure psychotic disorders, a disease that affects the skin and is believed to be caused by an immune failure.

Additionally, it is also said to help with muscle spasms and rheumatological conditions, making it perfect for therapeutic underwater exercises.

  1. Machu Picchu
This incredible monument was built by the Incas and is one of the Seven Wonders of the World . Known as “The Lost City”, this citadel consists of palaces and temples and is a historic site of religious celebrations.

It is said that the energy fields intersect here, between the mountains and the jungle of Peru, at 2500 meters above sea level. This city remains a mystery because no one knows why it was built . Some say that it is a sign that our ancestors already knew how to channel energy, since it is located in an enclave with very powerful energy levels. For this reason, many spirituality experts recognize it as one of the “chakras” of the world.

It is believed that its large amount of quartz has a positive effect on people, being good for increasing harmony, calm and finding mental and physical balance .
It is assumed that the energy that flows through the place comes from Mother Earth or “Pachamama”, the Inca goddess of fertility.

  1. Cape Reinga
In the north of New Zealand, precisely where the Tasman Sea meets the Pacific Ocean in a spectacular swirl of currents, there is a stunning place of green hills and blue waters: Cape Reinga.
Although not the northernmost point in New Zealand (North Cape is further north, but not open to the public), Cape Reinga is definitely the end of the line.

An ancient pohutukawa tree and a solitary lighthouse mark this special place, also known as “Te Reinga Wairua”, which means “place of leaping spirits”.
According to Maori mythology, the souls of the dead travel up the coast to the old tree, where they join the goddess Hinenuitepo to return to their ancestral home of Hawaiki.

Prepare to be amazed by the beauty and serenity of this northern gem, and captivated by its spiritual atmosphere.

  1. Assisi
Assisi, a medieval Italian hilltop town in Umbria, is rich in history and considered sacred for being built around a sacred spring.

It was the birthplace of Saint Francis of Assisi , founder of the Franciscan religious order and patron saint of the city. For this reason, the city has become a Christian pilgrimage destination and is also popular with tourists who want to meditate or practice yoga.
But regardless of the religion practiced, this area offers a spiritual experience through interdenominational concentration.

Being on the western side of Monte Subasio , from here you can enjoy the magnificence of the Umbrian hills as well as the forests of Monte Subasio. Assisi also offers many places of historical interest, such as the Basilica of San Francesco, the Basilica of Santa Chiara and the Cathedral of San Rufino.

  1. Varanasi
Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world , located in the center of the Ganges valley, in northern India: rich in culture, colorful, vibrant, it is considered sacred by practitioners of the Hindu religion.

Also known as the spiritual capital of India , the city attracts foreigners and Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the waters of the Ganges River , considered sacred.

The rest of the place is ideal for meditation, reflection and connecting with spiritual advisors. If you are looking for inner peace, this is the right place!

  1. Caye mezzaluna
Religious and mystical centers are certainly good for our spirit and physical well-being, but a tranquil corner of paradise is just as important.

Off the coast of mainland Belize lies a dreamy 44-acre island with clean, beautiful beaches, a historic national park, and a protected area .

From diving in the very popular Blue Hole , an underwater cavity so large it can be seen even from space , to snorkeling surrounded by beautiful, colorful protected sea creatures, you have many options to get in touch with nature.

Alternatively, take a walk to the other end of the island, where you can enjoy the company of colorful seabirds, or start your day with a sunrise yoga session.

Taking a break and finding a place that helps us regain peace of mind and physical health is, without a doubt, what we need in these difficult times.
