There has been an increase in news coverage regarding medicinal cannabis oil in 2013. This includes reports from CNN, ABC, CBS, CBS, and local media about high-cannabidiol cannabis oils effectively controlling the symptoms rare epileptic conditions like Dravet and Doose, infantile spasms as well as cortical dysplasia and infantile spasms. These conditions can lead to hundreds of thousands of seizures per week and also affect development in many other ways. The challenges for families with children who suffer from these conditions are immense. Due to Dravet’s complex nature, traditional pharmaceuticals often fail to treat the condition and make it worse. Family members have turned to high CBD cannabis oil for their only hope. This is showing remarkable results.
To clarify, high-CBD cannabis oil is non-psychoactive and apparently even more beneficial than high-THC cannabis oil. Cannabidiol (another cannabinoid from cannabis) is another. This cannabinoid, along with the psychoactive THC, has received significant research that suggests neuroprotective, anticancer, anti-ischemic and antispasmodic, as well as antipsychotic and antibacterial properties. Cannabidiol is also extracted from cannabis. These oils contain large amounts of concentrated cannabis cannabinoids. They can be consumed orally and not smoked. This preserves the medicinal compounds and allows them to pass through the digestive system.
CBD appears to have panacea-like effects, according to research. Sanjay Gupta made a CNN documentary on Charlotte Figi, which was released August 11, 2013. Charlotte was a Dravet syndrome young patient. She had 300 grand mal seizures per week. These seizures were so severe that no medication or diet changes could be made to lower them. Charlotte’s seizures stopped immediately after Charlotte was introduced to high-CBD marijuana oil by her parents. Charlotte has now suffered a mere three seizures per month. This is an extraordinary case and not something that’s common. Dr. Margaret Gedde is a Colorado Springs doctor who is following 11 new patients from the Stanely brothers. They are the ones responsible for Charlotte’s high-CBD medicine. 9 of them have had 90-100% reductions in seizures, which again, is simply miraculous.
CBD is effective against complex epileptic disorders. No other pharmaceuticals, even those with the best research, have been able to induce any healing. High-CBD cannabis oil can reduce symptoms immediately. The only side effects are systemic benefits such as more energy, better learning and improved behavior.
It shouldn’t surprise that such research has been ongoing for years. As research has shown cannabinoids to be effective in controlling epilepsy, so too is the evidence of their ability to control other serious diseases and eradicate cancers. And in practice, for epilepsy and these other conditions, the results are translating to humans. Since the beginning, people have been successfully eliminating and mitigating cancers. This is an extremely serious issue and it needs more attention.
